I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Being a teenager is hard enough, but transitioning and becoming a vampire at the same time...! It’s overwhelming. The author did an excellent job of balancing all the parts of Michael’s life: his new life as a vampire and his old life as a normal teenager with very different—but just as real and important—problems. I really liked that Michael’s parents are supportive of his transition, and that transphobia from his family is not one of the challenges he faces. As a LGBT person who was obsessed with vampires as a teenager, I wish this book had been around when I was younger. I’m so happy that trans, NB, and questioning teens can now read about themselves in fiction that isn’t entirely centred around being trans, but includes it as part of the overall plot. One of the final thoughts the reader is left with is, “All in all, I was evolving into a better vamp, a better man.” And who can ask for more than that?

I thought this book was great! The reason I thought this book was great is because I don't think many books contain transgender or LGBTQ+ people which makes it special. It made me feel a lot of different emotions. It was very well. I can't wait to read the next if there's going to be one. Please write another book. Oh by the way I'm 10 years old.

And you thought you had rough teenage years! I think this is about living your best life no matter what you have thrown at you. Jenna/Michael makes it through by using his own strength of character and with the help of good friends, a supportive family, and a mysterious mentor.

I received a copy of Adorned in Blood by L.S. Barron from Finch Books in exchange for an honest review. Read below. L. S. Barron's unique portrayal of the main character in her book Adorned in Blood makes it a very interesting read among other books in the supernatural genre. Michael, who is a sixteen year old going through a gender transition phase is saddled with yet another transformation; an almost uncontrollable thirst for blood. Just when he eventually learns to control his urges and everything seems to be going smoothly, he has an altercation with the father of the girl he's falling in love with which changes everything. In her book; Adorned in Blood, L. S. Barron changes the conventional narrative about vampires and divulges shocking revelations. She also sheds light on some of the struggles the LGBTQ community go through in their day to day life. Finally, we also get to read an excerpt into another of her book at the end of Adorned in Blood. End. The layman review
