There were many things about this story which I really enjoyed. The heat index is truly scalding. The sex is frequent and detailed. These love scenes go on for pages. They’re creative, explicit, and sexy as hell. The emotional development of each character is sweet. Each has growing to do and they progress through their personal issues individually and together. And this author clearly did her research, the professional actions and decisions made by all characters true to life and accurate. Overall, the writing was excellent, visual and descriptive, and the story line maintained a steady pace. A definite recommended read.Review by Wicked Reads
This is a really good starter for a new series – we get to meet not just a team of fire fighters, but members of the police department too. Through some very charged incidents, we are soon clear about the dynamics between the teams and about two individuals in particular. I liked how there was a strong bond between these two services and yet how important being impartial needed to be.
We are cleverly drawn into a budding romance, only to find that the real world crashes around them – we have been lulled into such a great sense of happiness, that it is as sad for the reader as the protagonists. Luckily hope, and faith in Ms. Knight steers the course – and in both a sensual and realistic fashion, that by the end the heat is rising and the world has righted itself once again.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
