A roller coaster of emotions bombards readers as they get caught up in this gripping romance and a sense of wonder catches the reader by surprise when life works out for these two strong, compelling characters. The chemistry is sizzling and the sex scenes are scorching while Conner and Ro find themselves faced with their happily ever after. The well written, fast paced plot flows smoothly with suspense, turmoil and romance that captivates readers throughout the story while the intriguing events ensure that the reader continues to turn the pages until the very end.

I really liked how Bailey wrote how the spirits interacted with one another and humans. Chocked full of surprises and emotional situations this book draws the reader into a world of where the spirits interact with each other and the living. I loved it and highly recommend it.

This is a short, sad story of two lovers destined to be together. Fate intervenes with a unique solution to their problem which causes Ro's family even more grief before there is anything to be happy about. Ro and Connor are elated to be together, but their happiness is tainted with knowing the price it evokes. If you like supernatural love stories between a man and a ghost, with lots of hot sex and an education about how things work in the afterlife, you may enjoy this story.

This book goes into a lot of depth about what it might mean to love someone, and what happens to you when you die - more so than in the other stories in the series. There were questions about choices, about whether or not the love you have for people (living and dead) can tie you to a place or a person. This wasn't an overly joyful story in a way, more reflective than anything. I was pleased that Ro and Connor found the love they were looking for, and in a realistic way.

With a supernatural sweet and hot love story, this is perfect for Connor and Ro's happy ending, whilst still leaving it open for more fun and frolics. A wonderful addition to the series.

Whereas the previous books in the series have had more of a contemporary romance feel with just a little paranormal twist to them, Ascension is a full-fledged paranormal romance. True to form, Bradford insures that the men are able to consummate their relationship and it is heavenly (pun intended). Ascension was an enjoyable addition to the Southern Spirts series and I’m looking forward to reading Stefan’s story in Whirlwind.
