The connection between Simon and Damon is erotically sizzling but it is laced with so manytears and such fear that it was hard to continue reading this at times. Unexpectedly, an angel in disguise comes to the rescue and Damon reaches out to accept the help. This is the move that makes this story work. His willingness to build again, with Simon. It was beautifully written.

I really like this story. Both Damon and Simon are likeable characters. This is a great read with not too much angst. It's a story about coming to terms with what happend at 9-11 and learning to let go of those memories and to love again. Too bad there wasn't an epilogue because I would love to read what happens to Damon and Simon next. I recommend!

The rush of emotions was almost violent, tossing between grief, despair, happiness and guilt in this heart-wrenching story. Despite the fact that there wasn’t a true happily ever after, it was still an uplifting ending where there was hope for both of the characters.

Nine One One is a tale about grief, loss, survival, and moving on, more than it is about the power of the holidays. While it is set around Christmas, it is more a catalyst for the actions of these men than it is a central theme of the story. If you generally shy away from “Holiday” stories for the cheese factor, this Nine One One may be a good option for you.
