Author Samantha Cayto’s inventive, original series continues with a complex second installment titled The Rebellious Pet.  Joel has a chip of major proportions on his shoulder, with good reason, but Arath is a exactly what he needs in his life.  This multi-layered plotline is absolutely primal and riveting.  One caution, readers have to deal with the fact that humans have no say in sexual matters where their conquerors are concerned.  A spirited sometimes difficult romance, The Rebellious Pet is ultimately satisfying.  The ending is worth every uncomfortable page.

This is book two in the series and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Joel becomes an admirable character. He is a bit young and foolish but he can learn. His new owner, Arath, is an ambitious male looking to advance his career. He is also a good lover and is surprised at Joel's brutal introduction into the joys of manlove. This does turn into a sweet romance with a plot and more world building.

After reading this book, I am hooked on this series and can't wait to read the next one. Recommended to m/m space opera readers who enjoy dub-con.

4 Stars...This story follows Joel who actually hit a spot with me in the first book. He was the human hard ass who first led the campaign to harass the Travian race back on Seven. He feels guilty for leading the boys to their “doom” but knew no other way to be than cause trouble.

It was interesting to read this Sci-Fi romance. A dark happily ever!

This was exceedingly well-written, with a fast but smooth pace that builds up to a climatic ending. There was a twist with the females that literally had me laughing out loud. Joel and Arath have a satisfying ending to their story, but I hope to see more of them in the future. With no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this is a wonderful addition to the Alien Slave Masters series.

The Alien Slave Masters series is definitely in a niche genre, which I will say is like dessert for me. I wouldn't enjoy a steady diet, but a taste now and then is a decadent treat.

The Rebellious Pet was a page-turner, and I devoured the entire book in one sitting.

I really enjoyed Joel and Arath's story. There were many cultural differences that they each had to muddle through, and much like in book one, Joel helps the Travians to escape a bloody coup. I definitely liked the slow development of their feelings for each other, and I look forward to more in this series. Another exciting action/adventure in space!

The character development was nice and solid.

The sex was hot, and I enjoyed the way their coupling changed as the story progressed. The discovery of kissing seemed to increase their intimacy.

I enjoyed this story a lot, and I think I’ll go back and read the first story, while waiting for the next.

Arath was wonderfully written. I loved how he cared for Joel even before he realized his affection for his pet went beyond what the governor required. He was so wonderfully written with his firm beliefs and couldn’t see past his world view yet slowly changed as he spent more time talking and interacting with Joel.

I really enjoyed the side characters. Wen was wonderful. He became an amazing friend and support for Joel. He also was a total sweetheart and I hope he finds his happy ending at some point as well. He deserves to find that forever love. I can’t wait to see more stories in this series and the world Ms. Cayto created.

I'm happy to report I'm just as enamoured with Joel's story as I was Wid's, and now excitedly waiting for book three!

I'm absolutely loving this Alien Slave Masters series so I'm just hoping and praying that it's not going to be too long a wait for the next book.

I'm space-tastically hooked!
