I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Jenna. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts. I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Ms. Byrnes delivered a hotter than hell, sexy read. Ms. Byrnes created larger than life macho men which did not shy away from their lusty feelings or the fact that their binding tie was hot sex. VanDoren’s Vice delivered an HEA with much room to grow as this book solidified the start of Mike and Cole’s relationship. I hope that we see more of this powerful couple in subsequent books.

I have to say, the Kansas City Heat series is just getting better and better with each instalment! Both the men of the KCPD, the crimes they are investigating and solving are getting more intense with every book. I can’t wait to read the next one!

It was good and the writing was excellent, if you are looking for a light story, with no angst then this is a good read.

VanDoren’s Vice by Jenna Brynes is that rara avis, a book from a series that can be read as a stand-alone, which is saying something as this is book seven in the Kansas City Heat series. I had not read any of the previous books, Vice was a fun read all on its own, with two sizzling hot MCs who can’t keep their hands off each other. The mystery was well done and added to the tension in the story. What else was rare were the number of positive female characters, along with one bad apple. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an enjoyable read populated by lots of interesting characters.

Kansas City has a new casino and someone is skimming the profits. Detective Mike VanDoren works for the Property Crimes Department and he and his partner Lisa Chen (who is a wonderful character and I wish we could have seen more of her) are brought in to solve the crime. Jenna writes a little mystery and a lot of romance, her books are always centered on the men she portrays and their relationships – that there is a mystery to solve is bonus. This book is all about Mike and the head of security for the casino Cole McKinney. Instant attraction, Cole is all in quickly while Mike must balance the way he feels for Cole with his ongoing investigation. Mike has a natural inclination to question everything – it’s what makes him such a good detective after all – but the draw between the two is just undeniable. The books in this series are good and after one you will go buy more because Jenna Byrnes is an excellent writer and her stories are always a treat to experience.
