Mastering Maya is a short story filled with emotions, character depth. Stephen and Maya are good for each other, he's kind, gentle and understanding. I liked his energy and determination and Ms. Sarai was able to show his confidence without making him seem like a know-it-all. Stephen is a very likable character who I wouldn't mind meeting somewhere. Ms. Sarai creates a lot of sexual tension between the two in a short time that makes the pages sizzle. Even though this is a short story, it's very enjoyable and the characters are well written.
